In my latest series of “Australian Botanicals” I explore themes of growth and change. I felt the Australian bush was well placed to encompass themes of adaptation. Australian Flowers and botanicals not only survive in extreme circumstances but also display characteristics of thriving in the midst of hardship. I feel this is true for growth as well. Whilst we all enjoy the benefits of periods when life feels a bit easier, growth usually comes about through periods of difficulty.

In this piece, I explore how not everything we do is helpful towards our goals. Not that everything we do has to always be goal orientated. However sometimes our actions or inactions prevent us from living a life in alignment with our purpose. Let’s get rid of those things which may not be helpful.

Just like growth isn’t always linear, this piece depicts movement in more than one direction. There is a push and pull towards change and a sense of resistance which can come about when change is being pursued. There is deliberately a circular notion in the movement, implying the process is ongoing.
