My story

Hi there, I’m Sarah,

I’m a mixed media artist based in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. I love to paint all flower types and Australian native botanicals. I like to include abstract designs and mark making in the backgrounds. Using an explosion of cheerful colour palettes, I love to create beautiful pieces which can bring joy and vibrancy into your homes and workplaces. I am inspired by the immense wonder in our natural world, leaving me in awe of God as the ultimate creator.

I am a self taught artist, however was blessed to have had an art teacher as a mother, who was always providing opportunities growing up to express creativity. My love for painting , drawing and colour has always been innate, and I have always enjoyed creating since I was a young child. It has only been in recent years when I have started reengaging back in a regular art practice again and further developing my skills.

I studied medicine after school and went on to become a General Practitioner. I still practice in a part time capacity whilst I juggle roles of wife and mum to three girls. It was in this medical role, and being asked to paint some pieces for my workplace waiting rooms which started me back on a journey of painting again and I haven’t stopped.

The process of creating art is so therapeutic, and a visual expression of oneself and our our world around us. Painting brings me much joy and I can now not imagine life without a paintbrush.
